Uckfield sits at the very heart of the Sussex Weald and has excellent rail connections to the centre of London, good local public transport. Uckfield,
 with its vibrant High Street & location is the obvious centre from which to explore glorious East Sussex. There's always something going on in Uckfield.
 The major events in Uckfield are the Festival in July and  the Carnival at the beginning of September. Uckfield Carnival originated in 1827 and was organised by shopkeepers of the day, now it is celebrated on the first Saturday in September. A massive torch bearing procession is the highlight
of the day, which is supported by other bonfire & Carnival societies of Sussex, with bands, majorettes and tableaux. There is regular
 entertainment in the Weald Hall. The Picture House is the only cinema for miles around and Uckfield has a full range of leisure & sporting activities.
